The aim of this study was to evaluate the long-term success and complication rate of fibrin-glue treatment of anal fistulas. Patients with an anal fistula presenting to a single surgeon over a three-year period were enrolled in this study.
High transsphincteric fistulas are difficult to treat because fistulotomy of involved sphincter muscle results in incontinence. We compare our outcomes for anal fistula plug, fibrin glue, advancement flap closure, and seton drain insertion.
